2021 Malbec, a labour of love. One barrel produced.

The Malbec at Harriet’s Vineyard was grafted on to 20 year old Chardonnay vines in 2016, and this is the third crop. The yield was tiny, the grafts are taking a long time to settle…

The fruit is fully de-stemmed, and left on skins for around 3 weeks.

The nose has dark red berries, spice and lavender, reminiscent of a cool climate shiraz, but with some unique floral aromas. The palate is savoury, medium bodied; there’s a little spice and grip from some 1yo oak.
